M/s Prithwiraj Agro-vet Ltd is a public limited company registered in the year 2005-06 and is a sister concern of M/s Prithwiraj group of companies. M/s Prithwiraj Dairy Products Private Limited had floated as a private limited company in the year 2000 to establish a milk processing plant with an initial production capacity of 9,000 L.P.D. at Jagatpur industrial estate, Cuttack over an industrial plot of 3/4th acre of land. The promoters of the unit have been involved in trading and manufacturing of salt for the last 30 years which is now operating as M/s Prithwiraj Traders Private Limited .

Before setting this unit, a complete survey of milk processing, marketing and procurement systems have been conducted taking into consideration the dairy units in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharastra and Orissa. For collection of milk a survey was conducted among 500 villages in the coastal districts of Orissa. Market survey was conducted over the cities of coastal districts and found that there is a huge gap between the demand and supply of milk. Also the dairy development in Orissa is at its early stage.

The unit has now completed its 6th successful year of operation with present operating capacity of 18000ltr per day out of 25000 ltr per day. The unit is an automated plant for production of milk and other products such as Ghee, Paneer, Khua, Sweet curd, Basundhi, Chena, Peda, Flavored milk and other sweet items. The unit now has a good marketing setup at Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Puri, Khurda, Berhampur, Dhenkanal, Angul, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balaswar etc.

The Company is collecting milk from coastal districts such as Puri, Cuttack, Khurda, Jagatsingpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak areas. For collection of such milk the company has setup bulk cooler plants through its sister concern M/s Sri Krishna Agriculturse Pvt. Ltd at twelve different locations. The milk is collected from the farmers having collection points at their village, who are a member of S.H.G group under the in-charge of one secretary after testing of quality. Then the milk is carried to the bulk cooler plant by the appointed agents from which the tanker carries the milk to the chilling plant of the factory. For the present we are collecting milk from around 280 societies consisting of around 5000 members. The company is selling the milk and milk products through 400 milk selling vendors.

Presently the company is planning to set up a milk processing plant of 9000 ltr capacity at Jharsuguda and an integrated Dairy farming unit with a milk processing plant of 50000 ltr capacity at Ishrapal of Hindol Tahasil of Dhenkanal district.
